Hashimoto Shitsugei is proud to offer a beautiful acrylic stand of Vocaloid Kaito that blends high quality printing with the traditional Japanese craft of maki-e. The makers of high quality maki-e lacquerware for 170 years, this time they wanted to challenge themselves with creating something they’d never created before: a new type of acrylic stand incorporating the latest printing technology and the traditional craft of maki-e.

The acrylic stand has an eye-catching 3D construction and comes with two acrylic sheets: one featuring high quality printed artwork of Kaito created by illustrator Mamenomoto that captures him appropriately dressed in blue holding a cup of ice cream, and the other a transparent background made entirely of maki-e with a gradated look that incorporates four colors for a beautiful sunset scene.

The panels are laser cut for precise detailing, and each maki-e background is handcrafted one by one by skilled artisans. A third acrylic panel is also included featuring birds in flight, fully capturing every detail of the original artwork. Lastly, a clear stand featuring a checkerboard design and Kaito’s logo is included to display it all on. First released at the event “Kaito 16th Birthday Celebration 〜Pincipio Azul〜,” this acrylic stand is now available for overseas fans exclusively through the TOM Shop!
